Has anyone with an nvidia gpu had this issue where the upper part of the screen flickers randomly for less than a second while browsing the web? Ever since I upgraded to the 581 drivers this issue still persists even after fully uninstalling and reinstalling them via DDU. What's weird is that it doesn't happen at all while gaming and other demanding workloads.

That's the first thing I tried but I saw it happening just a few moments before posting in this thread. 566.36 was a much more stable driver in comparison, had zero problems until I was forced to upgrade to play some new games. Maybe dialing down the refresh rate to 144hz will help.

It's playable on the current gen midrange Radeon cards (9070 and 9070 XT) because of Smart Access Memory, but we don't have that nor a working rebar to brute force higher 1% lows.

also there many other components you need to budget for like the motherboard, ram, cooler, ssd, psu and case which will raise your total cost more towards $3.5 to 4k if you are considering the rtx5090 and 9800x3d

I got an ASRock b650m-h/m.2+ and I'll report back if it kills my 9600. So far so good, knock on wood, but it's only been just over a week.
Temps have been good and performance in gaming has been as expected. CPU never went above 85C on the hottest part, but that's with a massive cooler I got because I didn't want to cheap out on accessories, and it's probably way overkill.

I have a similar issue, but it's my screen flickering to black when booting up and I get to the starting screen; it flickers for a good three seconds and then it's fine. Bought a new IPS screen, old one was TN. No matter how I set it up, my eyes get raped by insane contrast between light and dark. Say I'm playing a dark game like Poe then tab out into a browser with some light colours, it's like looking at the sun. I don't have dynamic contrast nor HDR enabled so I have no idea. The brightness and contrast settings are both quite low at 50 and gamma at 2.4. Is there an adjustment period before you get used to a new screen or something?

The dse/matte looking fuzz over the screen is really only an issue with gray backgrounds like the "tomorrow" theme on here.

The 120w is more accurate without it gimping itself.

When normalized for performance, they perform basically the same in watts-to-flops or watts-to-FPS
9000 will idle lower due to more power saving efficiency but it comes at the cost of performance
to get the performance from 9000 series you enable the higher TDP mode
it's basically not a real representation of the actual watts used
