ty, guess i'll be on the lookout for a 27" ips then. No KTC available in my country unfortunately, is there any point going higher then 180hz on monitor for 1440p highest quality graphics? surely im not getting 200+ fps at 1440p without a 5090, its 2-400$ for 1440p 27" monitors, all from 140hz-300hz range

Not for me, 165~180Hz is fine for most gamers. I don't think it's worth buying +240Hz LCD monitors unless you're at least at a semi-pro level in competitive titles.

I think AMD's X3D shit is better if you want incredibly high FPS in CPU-bound games.
For casual, single player, story gaming at 1440p or even 4K, at 60-144 FPS (possibly with framegen)? Basically anything modern enough for DDR5 and i5/R5 tier will suffice at this point.

>Oblivion Remastered - 120-140 FPS on mixed high/ultra with DLSS and Framegen, HW Lumen High
>Tiny Tina's Wonderlands - all maxed out 1440p locked 144 FPS (capped because it was fluctuating too much)
>MGS Delta (first few "rooms") - high settings ultra textures, DLSS Balanced, locked 60 FPS with GPU headroom
I've been busy going to WORK (classic am I right, can finally afford an up-to-date PC yet don't have the time to use it) so I've mostly been using it for genning AI slop and doing dailies in my gacha games, but AAA does seem to work well at 1440p actually.

I am using a 15.6 laptop too and cmon 27 is not large, at 1440p its even less so
I use like 125% text zoom on 140ppi, which is a bit smaller size than 105ppi 1440p
that just means you have trouble reading text and dont use the space enough? idk
I feel like icons are too large and text too small at 100% 1080p 15.6"

using a 4k 32" now a 65" is like four of them in size but in 1080p segments, kinda cooked when you think about it
and it's not sharp enough at 32", I might be cooked, idk, might be hard to take the tv pill after seeing higher ppi or not

65" makes 55" look reasonable

I also upgraded from a 1660 Super (PC now happily retired to my lil bro's bedroom), and yeah it does seem quieter. I think my 1660S was an... Asus? The whole system was TUF-flavored, maybe. My 5070 is the cheapest one - the Inno3D SFF-ready dual fan. Unlike the 1660S it actually has a 0 RPM mode when I'm just web browsing/chatting and not playing video (RTX video super resolution forces it to 1400RPM) or playing games.

buy a S90D on steep sales, the prior best gaymen TV for triple A gaymen
I cannot confirm if Gigabyte has 16 hour forced refreshes for pixel refreshes, which WILL bug you and annoy you since the implementation is most likely buggy which will exacerbate the problem even more
there is zero reason to get 165 over 240 since they both use dsc too really

also as I have mentioned time and time again, oled fringing might be a thing which will be increased on glossy oled which will show in ways of feeling frying your eyes out and inability to focus due to the pixel matrix, if you encounter these issues you know why
you might be able to get used to them or not, depending on

Depends on if a game is made or broken by needing DLSS in the first place for 1440p performance. I may have a 240hz monitor but I know trying to push too hard is simply too much for some games so I try to hold a 60hz standard if it's stable. RT is entirely dependent on "is this game perfectly playable and designed without it, or is it fucked if it's theoretically disabled". So Doom Dark Ages or Indiana Jones are kind of a no-go as far as I know.

the thing about framegen is that it doesn't change, or depending on if you're using an RX or RTX 40-series and below card, even lowers the playable frames that you "feel" in input beneath the veneer of framegen. so you could turn 60 frames into 120 with 2x, but in bad conditions where your computer is already being strained, that could feel like 40-50 frames, which also results in lurches and instability for the generated frames.
if your base game plays like absolute fucking ass and even the 5090 puts out like 60 FPS at bottom outs and a general 80 FPS otherwise for the broad game (past the tutorial area/first boss) on DLSS Quality at 1440p, frame gen isn't gonna make 60 feel like 120. it's mainly that the 50-series can take that performance drop away from the input frames to avoid things worsening, and apparently AMD performs better on Borderlands 4 anyway.

CPUs, including Intel, have used granular temperature-sensitive boost algorithms for the better part of a decade now. Feel free to buy an aftermarket cooler, if nothing else it'll be quieter, but don't expect it to run at 70C max like an old 22nm design because the chip will see that it has more thermal headroom and adjust clocks accordingly. It's very easy to lower vram, don't prevent yourself from a good deal because of vram concerns. As long as you have over 8gb at 1440p or above you'll be fine. I have a 10gb card and at native 1440p I have no vram issues in any game, obviously I'll read about optimized settings beforehand so I know what to expect, but in the worst case scenarios all I've had to do is drop textures from the highest to one setting lower which is usually from ultra to high. I have a 10gb card so a 12gb card will be fine. I even use it to play at 4k* (with dlss*) and have no issues.

Being retarded in this case might actually help because games do auto settings anyway most of the time nowadays which will take into account vram and other things. So if someone doesn't touch the settings at all it will probably work just fine for them. As an alternative you can get the nvidia app to automatically do settings for you in games and it even has a performance/quality slider which will automatically adjust settings based on where you set the slider, but you can just leave it as default and have a good experience based on the default settings nvidia sets for your hardware configuration.

12gb isn't an issue now, even at 4k the list of games you would have to worry about it with on max settings are very short, maybe 4/5 years from you have to worry about setting textures to high or medium over max or something like that in SOME games. You've probably got a decade before "issues starting games" becomes a problem, every game is still playable on 6gb today and the ps6 is probably going to try and stay cheap so...

Their business model
>Gnu/jihad is a far right conspiracy to dismantle copyright throughout the west and beyond, these "chuds" consider intellectual property as fake and "gay" as compared to normal property rights. A threat to our democracy.
>Imagine a world where everyone has their own AI and any bozo with the means can make a X3D chip or CUDA, a world where chuds run the economy based on competitive products rather than competing which kegal firm can hoard the most licenses and monopolies

Radeon sisters I think I'm losing my faith, please reassure me.
Why are we always waiting just one more gen for everything to be fixed, why can't things just be good all the time like they are on Nvidia?
Will redstone really fix the issue of every instance of heavy rt or path tracing being totally broken or unplayable slow on my 9070xt?
