possible trims a 20~ or so cpu cooler, the PA is probably a bit too much but for its price... might as well
cheaper disk, the sn7100 is a good budget disk, we can go lower
a cheaper case, i like the 903 tho, as the other anon said you can reuse yours but if its too old it will make the building difficult and impede airflow
a cheaper psu, while the parametic filter picked the cheapest 750w gold fully modular one with some good reviews we could check for 650w semi modular or whatever
Its not a lot of trim, but its there
On the other hand if you find more money we could get a better gpu and/or a better cpu
Also the ram is bought like that as its about 10$ cheaper for stick than buying them together

It was my pleasure. Hopefully some other anon can vouch for the selection

MSI afterburner is mainly used for overclocking, if the included rivatuner statistics stuff is all you want, then yes get capframeX. CapframeX will show you wait times, has better logging features, just all around better for that specific thing. afterburner, after all these years, still great for OCing though

Track fans if you want to change the fan curves for a quieter or cooler system. Track voltage if you want to undervolt or overvolt (you dont). Don't bother with the rest, most of them are for overclocking and stability diagnostics shit.

>why wouldn't I do it?
Because you're not a power user and that is yet another thing that you would need to watch out for if you ever get stability issues. It is generally a good idea, but it's not really meaningful at the end of the day, I wouldnt do it if I were you.
And yeah, I did mean to stress the overvolting part. You really shouldnt mess with that unless you really know what you're doing.

Anons im still so very conflicted on RDNA4 vs 50 series. As well as the pricing options.
there is only 1 9070xt at MSRP, and its a poopy asrock card. The benchmarks ive seen on 9070xt models have core, mem and vrm temps varying wildly, 75c-90c on memory. Ive never been one to buy the shit tier bottom of the barrel MSRP cards, and would usually opt for a beefier AIB card, such as a 3fan EVGA in the past. So the price for a decent 9070xt goes up to $650-$730. there are numerous decent looking 5070ti MSRP cards at $750.
I want to play at 1440p, and will never use frame generation. I have no idea how important upscaling is thesedays, as ive been on 1080p and adjusting my settings down like a boomer. I have no idea what do..

get a decent 1 or 2tb nvme and an external HDD enclosure with USB 3.0, toss a 4 or 8TB drive in there for mass storage or torrents. games/apps go on the nvme, files to save go on the enclosure.

I have a 2TB 990 Evo Plus in my PC and a 1TB 980 (forma regular) in an external USB-C 10gbit enclosure. I was thinking of getting a whole bunch of 512GB NVME's from random brands that people are selling as "lightly used" for under 25 bucks and just hot swapping them using the enclosure (tool-less) for infinite storage. SSD speed shouldn't matter much if I'm bottlenecked by the 10gbit USB bandwidth, plus my mobo being a cucked poorfag model with 5gbit only kek
Gaming on a 5gbit connection does work just fine actually. Most games never go above 500mb/s read even on my 990 Evo Plus when loading.

You have to be more specific, whats the delta and check if you have the same ram timing and the cpu is bottleneck, it could also be something retarded and related to your PCI-express slots, motherboards with dedicated 4.0 USB lanes will underpower your PCI express lanes in certain situations, there also some mobos bios that have issues running PCI 5.0 on correct speeds and going into your BIOS and putting on 4.0 has been proven to fix the issues. Lastly it could be down to not being properly powered and running it with a PSU that has not enough wattage to properly power up your shit

you honestly won't see a notable difference, if you want to upgrade then go for more capacity (64gb) but right now that's very expensive. If you have 32 that's plenty.

The asrock should be fine, the issue causing x3D chips to get cooked was stock SOC voltage too high. That was on an old BIOS so the new ones should be fine. Also, it's very easy to cool cause it's a very efficient CPU.

I have a Viewsonic XG2401, did not know that it actually was very good for a TN panel.

When checking the reviews and comparing it with recent IPS monitors, there is not much of an improvement.

It won't feel like an upgrade, will it? Might as well be more bothered about the IPS glowing....so this leaves only OLEDs as real perceivable upgrade.
But at the cost of higher pricing, burn in prevention programs that just delay the inevitable, worse text clarity, low brightness etc.

That's a bit of a stretch. The edge TN have over IPS is in motion, usually in very high refresh rate monitors (300hz+). That's a 144hz screen, you can get IPS screens that look better and have pretty much the same motion clarity as it. But the correct move is going for OLED.

I got mine for 400 flat at microcenter. But on amazon the lowest it's ever been is 430. Get the Keepa browser extension, it makes that graph you see which will tell you the historical price of things on amazon. Websites like that will trick you with sales that aren't actually sales it's just the price from whatever the previous price was.
So say something averages for a hundred dollars. They will raise the price for a day to 200 then lower it back down to 100 and say it's a 50% off sale. The only way to know is to track it manually or use an app like that.
I would say if you can get one for 400-420 you are doing good unless they are going to slash the prices into the 300's for the holidays. I really don't know that's just my feeling on it.

I get crazy bad color banding . its actually 6 bit with some sort of addon to reach 8bit color. fill your screen with a solid color, for me I have to sit PERFECTLY to not have noticeable variance from the top to the bottom of the monitor. the viewing angles drastically change the color reproduction. change that to gradients and see all the wonderfully shit banding.
Its a great monitor for clicking on heads, but I think I will enjoy jumping to 1440p in a new panel type.

Im not trolling, just very conflicted and overthinking I guess. benchmark videos seem to vary too, usually they trade blows in raster preformance but it seems like the 9070xt was getting better 1% lows by a noticeable margin in some of these. I dont know if thats an older nvidia driver issue that since been resolved or what, I heard about bad drivers earlier this year.
I watched seperate CS2 benchmarks for both cards, with the 9070xt getting over 100fps higher 1% lows. I want a card I can play """esports""" tittles on reliably, but also play my single player AAA sloppa.
Ive always just bought nvidia cards because they just work, they were the more premium no nonsense option. with the 12vhpwr stuff, the driver issues on launch and missing rops that feels alot less like the case now. If this was 30 or 40 series, i wouldnt even be considering it. id have bought a 4070tisuper or whatever no question. like i said before, maybe its just a bunch of nvidia fud and AMD shilling thats making me paranoid, but right now I dont feel like buying the green card is the easy safe pick.

A lot of nvidia's issues have been fixed now, missing rops and drivers primarily. 12vhpwr is still a problem but is minimised when you stick to a 5070ti or slower GPU since they draw too little power to cause the melting issue. Nvidia's advantages of better dlss4 adoption and lower power draw are still pretty strong and amd's own admission that next-gen UDNA will obsolete all their current architectures aren't helping them.

I'm realizing using multiple windows on a single 4k screen is kinda retarded also, I'm a full screen app per screen person, trying to manage multiple small 1080p windows is just fucking ass I think

This can be 3 things:
>ABL or BFI
Which you can disable in the service menu/regular menu
>VA autism
In which case, it's over for you.
>GPU artifacting
Same as above.
>and it's related to hardware acceleration or something and is app dependent?
I dont think it is.
>trying to manage multiple small 1080p windows is just fucking ass I think
Try running one big 3840x1440p window and 1-3 smaller windows on top. That is the comfiest setup for me. I like it better than using multiple screns.

So far I got
9800X3D
5080
96GB Corsair CL36 6000MHz (2x48)

Gaming, bit of CAD/Modelling shit. Don't intend to have a lot of storage or random expansion cards.

I've literally never bought or used a AMD CPU or the motherboards to go with them so I have no idea what the fuck any of the nomenclature is.

850 isn't cheapest those would be the 650's. The only difference between 850 and 870 is the 870 has a 40gb usb connection and a couple extra nvme slots which you don't seem to need.

> Is there a market for reselling old DDR4 sticks?
Sort of? If you have high capacity sticks, you'll definitely be able to sell them for what you paid for them, plus maybe 30% of the base price on top? The bigger issue is finding a buyer. Like sure, a 2x32Gb might be worth 200 CAD, but who's buying that? Normal people and gamers are more than fine with 32Gb total RAM, and that's easy and cheap to accomplish. 64Gb would be for a budget workstation, but those people probably already have that much RAM, and probably won't spend that much on more.

So I'm seeing a lot of people trying to sell used 32Gb RAM at grossly inflated prices, but not a whole lot moving. There just doesn't seem to be a market for it on the used consumer side of things. Sure companies are paying out the ass for it, but the average person sure as hell isn't.

There are some motherboards that have a power limit below the 9800x3d's max boost potency, but it's unlike you will ever boost to anywhere close to 160w. Still, these boards are power limited for a reason (shit components). Try to avoid asus prime, gigabyte gaming, etc.
>tldr
Dont pick any board that goes above 80, maybe 85 degrees in this chart, that are power limited to below 162w OR have less than 8, optionally 10 phases in the VRM. This is just for B850, other specs will have different listings, of course.

Otherwise I'm gonna just buy something that ships in 2 days from Amazon.
