>>212614894>>getting a computer it would take years to set up factories just to produce inferior equipment>Sure, but that doesn't mean they couldn't also produce equipment of similar quality if they put in years of work into it and created enough jobs for people in the field. You don't understand how vastly inferior such equipment would be, it would be like going back to 90s stuff for many countries, and production for that alone would take years to set up.
>>food variety would go down>I'm sure you have seen the pic that shows how they pick fruit in 'gentina, then transport it to the Philippines because the workers pack them in plastics for much cheaper there, only so that they can send the fruit except it's wrapped in plastic to the USA.It was Thailand and the reason for that is that cargo ships go from East Asia or South East Asia to Argentina trasnporting cheap manufactured goods, then those ships have to go back to East Asia and/or South East Asia, so transporting stuff is very cheap because there's little demand to move products from Argentina back to Thailand, so in Argentina they could can it themselves or sell the raw food, but because the canning process is cheaper in Thailand since the cans themselves are probably produced nearby, it makes sense to feel the containers with raw fruit, move it to Thailand, can it there and then transport it to where consumers can buy them.
>So actually, that's good.Well personally I rather be able to buy a good variety of foods, and I'm sure you wouldn't want to be unable to buy coffee or chocolate.
>>get fertiliser from outside>Fertilisers are ruining the ground, so that's also good.I would love more sustainable farming but with the current demand for food that would requires years to achieve.
>Consoomerism must come to an end.I agree but in a rational manner not in a fuck poor people manner.
