Update: it did not fix it. Basically I get inconsistent bursts before the trigger fails to reset in super safe mode (1 to 6 rounds, usually exactly 2). No issues in semi. It's infuriating, I can't figure out the problem point. Functions checks are always completely normal. Though I did notice today the supersafe mode required a significantly heavier initial trigger pull than semi. Is that normal?

If you absolutely want the most retard proof plug and play drop in 3-position system and do not care about cost then RareBreed is still the go-to. If you don't care about 3 position, don't want to pay 500 dollars for something that costs 50 to make, or hate the idea of patents then Hoffman is a proven design. People have been exploring either using the safety or rear stock pin instead - they are also exploring a progressive trigger Semi/FRT but IMO that's going to be asking for trounle without a FRT lockout . Considering there's absolutely no source whatsoever for AUG ALO automatic lockout triggers (because only Ireland and Australia used them) its going to be a uphill battle.

For now If you don't install the selector extension you don't need to drill the stock - it just leaves the gun in semi or FRT unable to switch until you pull the pack.
IMO just get a spare stock - non BHO NATO stocks are cheap

Everyone I have seen use an Atrius says they break quickly. Always in the same spot, which is where the lever bends. I got one and it looks frail AF. I'm not even going to bother installing it. I'll just wait a couple weeks for my ARC to arrive. Plus Atrius had the multimonth shipping fiasco with no comms while ignoring emails. I wouldn't recommend anyone go with Atrius over AS Designs at this point.

Yeah the AK FRT SS market is super underdeveloped, and IMO it is actually one of the most promising. My two position AK FRT has been working flawlessly for nearing 1200 rounds total, maybe 1300 actually I need to double check. The design of the cam is such that the force to actuate the reset is transferred through a very durable tough piece, as opposed to the lever designs for the AR platform. The trip bar which is arguably the weakest part is only subject to moderate forces.
I've got the three position function checking by hand decently well right now, so long as you don't crank down on the trigger to hard. Going to work on it more a bit here.

I don't know if AK receiver and carrier specs are tight enough in terms of tolerances, but matching the cam and trip bar to a particular spec fire control group, auto disconnector, and auto safety, for a near drop in three position AK FRT SS that keeps the original OG aesthetic... we're not far from that.

As someone who clearly hasn't been paying attention, why bother replying? RBT has been suing EVERYONE who makes FRTs or SSs of any kind. RBT believes their patents cover the UTILITY of forcing the reset of a trigger in a firearm. We'll see how all these lawsuits play out. I'm obviously in favor of RBT getting BTFO as the newer stuff is better and lower priced than the RBT cassette.

Just to verify, if I plan to use a rifle buffer lower and a 20in rifle gas upper, there should be little to no "tinkering" to make a standard super safety work, correct? It's only carbine gas/buffers that you need to experiment with?

The AUG FRT is extremely well developed and is the best entirely non AR/AR compat FRT out there.
Drilling really isn't a big deal tbqh and it's not even required for 2pos function. More importantly I've heard of absolutely no issues with the AUG FRT and it's compatible with the Ratworx 20/20 and the Steyr red spring kit
Getting a selector anywhere else but the rear is going to be extremely Protracted and likely require parts sampling from the already incredibly rare ALO AUG's (Automatic Lock Out) used by Ireland and Australia Or parts from the F90. A progressive trigger FRT with the ALO or a crossbolt frt replacing the safety would rock but it's also going to be a severe hurdle

$750 gets you a full printed pack ready to go with ratworx 20/20. Personally I recommend against the Ratworx anyway because it compromises drop safety and the Steyr red springs and trigger linkage tuning gets you 90% of the way there anyway. The red springs also reduce the force needed to manipulate the charging handle as an added bonus

All the vectors, regardless of caliber, have very high rate rates of fire with FRT.

The MP5 has a plethora of modernization options, cheaper mags, great irons and a manageable RoF with SS/ARC.

If 9mm then MP5 hands down
If .45 then vector hands down
If .40 or 10mm either vector or Stribog
Bog's have a slower more managable RoF when FRT'd however they need 2 trips to function.

UMP will be another, niche, option for .45 but you'd be getting much, much slower RoF in exchange for substantially worse recoil and higher costs even with the new S5 tactical UMP's at $1900
.40 & 10mm MP5 aren't working with FRT yet and limited to high dollar custom builds like Dakota

It's going to be more economical to convert a PTR-91/G3/HK91/AP51 to a HK21 and you can easily get the HK23 conversion kit for ~2000

This means you can be slinging .308 in a belt fed for less than a M249S + lower.
And the HK23 conversion means substantially less than owning a M249S and M240S.

Forward on the Belt Fed AR uppers.

The one plus to the Bog is a conventional design (UMP at home but actually better) with much simpler internals - the roller delayed system in the Bog (Kuna copied it) is extremely simple compared to HK roller designs but it reaps most of the benefits - IMO it's so well done HK should fucking kneel and update their UMP's with it.
.45ACP and 10mm aren't cheap so the slower RoF with FRT is another boon for the Bog.

It is a copy of the roller delayed Stribog design but the bolt is shorter with different bolt geometry on the bottom - as it was meant to be shorter/more compact than the Stribog 9mm.

IMO it offers no advantages over an MP5 - the simplified roller delaying of the Bog and Kuna reaps most but not all of the advantages of the HK rollers. The HK's are capable of much more fine tuning between locking piece and rollers and camn be tuned better as they wear because ultimately bolt gap is adjustable.

I saw an article about this online. I thought the "machine gun conversion" ban made it out of the PA house, but the other bills were defeated. It started off as a Glock switch ban, but they added a bunch of other language to it that would cover things like frt's, ss, and maybe binary triggers. my new super safe rifle was firing on trigger reset while on semi. i compared it to my other lower that doesn't have this issue and found the disconnector wasn't camming forward enough so was barely engaging with the hammer (green line is where the good one was contacing, red line the bad). i dremel'd the front bottom of the disconnector (lower red line) to let it rotate forward more and that seems to have fixed the issue, at least dry firing. hopefully the thinner tip doesn't break. if it does i'll get another and try taking some metal off the trigger where that part contacts

Added quite a bit of gas and spring, and it still doesn't cycle reliably. I think the trigger bar ramp wore down a bit as in FRT SS mode right now I'm getting hammer follow, as in the reset isn't large enough in amplitude to catch the hammer on the front main trigger hook, and or the trigger finger pressure plus the cam profile plus the trigger bar ramp profile is unlocking the cam and trigger before the trip bar does its job.

It comes with everything you need. I just got my lower in today and the rest of the parts to finish off my lower should arrive tomorrow. IMO we're in a race against time right now. We need FRT and SS systems and products to be developed across as many platforms as possible, and for them to be made as functional, reliable, and durable as possible, to help motivate maximum adoption and market penetration. I've not shot this much at all this year, but recently I've came out a few times to some actual outdoor ranges (not BLM land) testing my Arizona Regulator FRT, and I know for sure I've probably helped sell at least 3-4 of them. The 3 position FRTs are absolutely the way to go, and made these go from novelty toys like bumpstocks to something way more practical that everybody can see the utility in. I will let anybody shoot my stuff with FRTs (with their own ammo) in hopes to convert them over. It's good to see you're working on AK related stuff, which obviously poses even more difficulties than AR shit just related to the tolerances across the board. You can't even just drop an aftermarket standard trigger in an AK without expecting to do some type of fitting, so a mass solution (especially a 3 position one) is probably going to be a task. I've yet to use any of them yet.

I'm toing to try to get my hands on an Arc-Fire and a Reset Ninja trigger, which seems to be a similar design to the Arc-fire just to see how they do against the Arizona Regulator. The Regulator works very reliably, but I noticed that unless you use a can, the rate of fire is way slower than a standard select fire M4 or M16, it feels like 550-650 RPM, but with a can it boosts it back up to 700-750ish. I'm wondering if it's just how it goes with that design. I've not tried a Rare Breed or Super Safety yet.

Fired 360 rounds today in testing. Mechanically no issues with the trigger itself, but did experience failure to feeds about 6 or 7 times. The BCG didn’t have enough ass to pick up the next round and return to battery, likely because of the added drag from the SS lever.

Experienced no issues at all when using 30 rounds PMAGs. I imagine that an increased power spring would assist the carrier through its hangups.

Biggest takeaway is that the kynshot buffer and rifle gas system slowed the ROF to a nice and cool 530 rpm.

Basically how this one worked was that it utilized the progressive trigger of the PS90 in which it's still two position, safe and semi, but a light touch made it super safe and a hard touch made it single shot mode. Scar 17 FRT worked really well. Most of the time I was shooting off a bipod. Had to tighten the mag release a decent amount as I had a mag or two that would unseat itself, though it could have just been a mag issue.

You might have a hard time with hollow points feeding since mp5s don't have feed ramps. Mine does not like flat nose rounds when you get to the last 10 or so rounds in the mag. The first 20 usually work fine. Ice heard of some people not having any issues with theirs or with certain mags.

they say they are waiting on their ATF determination letter. FFT says they have waited 5 months of a 6-9 month time frame.

I have an open bolt 10/22. It really kind of sucks. You can't switch it back to semi auto and the larger capacity mags have to be massaged to work. With a factory 10rd mag, it's almost like it shoots out a solid 8" stream of bullets. 10rd factory mags run flawlessly. The BX mags of 10-25 capacity have to be massaged. I run them up against a file the remove the top edge of the right side of the magazine. It seems like that part slows the bolt down and it will not strike the first round hard enough. With that top corner side ground off, a 25 round mag has to be fired in two or more bursts or it will get ahead of itself and jam.

For all of you guys who are paranoid (and somewhat rightly so) about ordering any of this shit, myself and my friends who have ordered from Arizona Regulator have had the following positive experiences that may ease your paranoia: if you use his order form and send that in with a money order, he will send you your goods in usually about a week and a half to two weeks. As of right now AFAIK the 3 position variant (which I'm assuming is the one most people will want) is only available with a milspec trigger. He offers the 2 position one in 3 variants to work with a Geissele, Larue or milspec trigger, but if you get the AZ-15A1 (3 pos) it comes with the "reset pack" mechanism, as well as a full auto selector, trigger and disconnector, and a semi auto hammer. The trigger he uses feels like a Schmidt or a Colt, and once you start shooting it it already starts feeling pretty good. On his website he says he got his 9mm Colt mag type lower to function with it as well. I don't recall reading about any cutting on the 9mm parts at all, and there's no modification needed for any of the 5.56 triggers except maybe some filing on the reset dingus on the pack for fitment if needed. Coltfags like me are SOL unless you mill out the trigger pocket to low shelf/m16 spec, which I'm going to start getting ready to do, as what I'd like to do is just have the AZ Regulator trigger spec in every rifle I have, and just dump in the reset mechanism into the gun I want to shoot at the time.

Since when has there been any "precedent" about the SS, by which I presume you mean the Hoffman Super Safety?

The only court case so far was Rare Breed and that ended in a settlement. There is no guarantee that any other design wouldn't have to go to trial, but it's likely that the Rare Breed case could be cited to any non-ideologue judge to get him to back off.

As far as what the feds are "planning", obviously half of the feds are seething, and the other half are just "I don't wanna touch this issue because I'll lose the next election". Trump seems to have figured out that he pissed off half his base with the bumpstock and red flag law stuff, so he's not likely to push for another "just ban them and figure out the words later".

VCDL has issued an opinion that the Virginial law is so poorly written that it should be considered invalid*, but that's going to require a test case, and it looks like that guy volunteered.

Yes, it's the same trigger group, so a SS will work with those parts. There is however a nuance. The bolt carrier is different so the lever has to be modified to work with the different bolt carrier.
