Interesting highlights about this text:
-Coverage on European white metal / pewter kits. While these kits and models didn't take off a strongly as say resin, Hobby Japan did extensive coverage on some of the best, both from large companies and smaller hobby/garage runs.
-Bandai's 1981 Elmeth (then called the Hermes), Bigro and Grabro models are shown with some additional fanfiction written about them from the builders.
-Takara's Dougram & Space Runaway Ideon kits are shown, primarily with some support from Kunio Okawara giving opinions and sponsored ads all through the book.
-Western films such as 2001: A Space Odyssey and Alien are covered with 1/12 scale models made from white metal / pewter. Star Wars and Star Trek, especially The Empire Strikes Back, are covered kit wise.
-Lots of coverage on general plamo, including guns, planes, ships and D & D tabletop pieces.
-Soldier Blues by Motofumi Kobayashi, specifically from Act VIII titled "Waldner 555 (Part 2)" is covered.
-Scenes from the 21st Annual Japan Plastic Model Show, held October 19th to the 20th of 1981 at the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Hall. A life sized RX-78 II Gundam was on display at Bandai's booth while Dougram also made appearances. As this is the December 1981 issue, many of the kits had already been released a month prior by November. All sorts of kits, including Kabuki dolls, were presented.
-Two tabletop games are included for free.
-Tons of ads for recruitment for hobby groups, shops and build meets.

Since the reboot just ended and some people might be interested in older series as well. It's only about 10 initial episodes of each TV series (1-2 initial story arcs), but still. Note that the timing is about 15s late due to how much ads were in front of the BS YT uploads (never got to actually retiming these, sorry).
Is it known if there are any art books for Daiohja? Of all the 70s and 80s mechs shows this seems to be the one with by far the least info available on the English internet (doubly odd because it's a Sunrise show), so I'm curious to learn more. I found whatever-this-is on an online auction but that's about it. Anyone know about it?

I don't know where else to ask this and I think it would hardly be worth a thread of its own, but I need do help so here it goes:
I recently downloaded full copies of the RaXephon R1 DVDs off AB since Sentai in their infinite wisdom decided to use their license for the series to release the godawful Q-tec blu-rays, so owning a legitimate physical release is sadly not an option right now.
I was planning to just remux the discs into individual episodes using MakeMKV and use an USB to play them with my Blu-ray player, like I've done many times before for other series, but I'm having some issues in this case.
The de-interlacing is just not working properly. There are very visible interlacing artifacts present when a character does something snappy, like moving their head from side to side. I've tried modified some flags related to the interlacing information using MKVToolnix but nothing seems to work, and as I said before, these RahXephon DVDs seems to be only piece of media this is happening for, so I have no reference as to what the problem or solution might be.
Could there be something in particular about DVDs that's the issue?
>>23362762>Could there be something in particular about these DVDs that's the issue?*For reference, I recently rewatched Gasaraki and Spriggan in the same fashion and there were no such setbacks.
anyone plan on uploading USBD Giant Gorg on nyaa sometime soon? current best batches subs are out of sync still
>>23362762there were bad discs in the day
iirc when I helped [EG] with Miller's Report it turned out I had the version with the bad mix dub
ADV's Sailor Moon release was total trash
some eps would go 1,2,4,3 instead of 1, 2, 3 ,4
So, I'm planning to rewatch the series and thus recently grabbed it from the cat site. It came with season 0 which I didn't know about. It has two episodes, 02 Wings to the Future and 03 Genetic Awakening, which seems to be a full length movie. Does Majestic Prince S00E01 exist? Is it even worth digging around to find, if it wasn't even included?
>>23366613Wings to the Future is a extra episode to tie in with the movie, pretty much is episode 25, the Genetic Awakening movie is a direct sequel to that and the series. No additional seasons, just some weird folder sorting.
Found this while poking around today. The Super Robot Chronicles books - volume 1, 1963-1997 is pictured, and volume 2 is '97-2013. They seem extremely comprehensive with very detailed robot art - what scans I've found show even one-off oddities like Legaciam and Dragon's Heaven are included. And despite what a valuable resource they seem to be, they're not on EH. Anyone here got 'em?

It says the short Gundam Neo Experience: 0087 Green Divers will have no chance of a release but its been on Youtube fully subbed since 2023.

Is this not it?
>>23386995Yeah, it was made watchable in U.C. Engage that April. It was pretty unexpected that it would be distributed through a mobagay. Who'd have ever seen that coming?
Hello, I'm looking for a full .ISO of the SKULLMAN (hugely underrated series IMO) Sentai DVDs.
There's a copy on AB but unfortunately it's no longer being seeded. There's also one for the Spanish Selecta Vision DVDs, which would OK by me since that's my native language, but unfortunately I have not had good experiences trying to watch anime in PAL format (crazy jerkiness during panning scenes).
Any idea where I might be able to find it?
I think I asked before, but I have a few Terebi-kuns from around Gaim/Drive
are there scans of them? it's got some nice papercraft masks and stuff, but if they're already out there I'm sure there's other crap for me to do
Request to save the thread from page 9: Anyone have any of these? The All Anime Robot Complete Works. There's three - '70s-'80s, '90s, and '00s.
>You have control.
>I have control.
Where does that exchange originate from? I rewatched two shows lately (Majestic Prince and Zegapain) and both made a reference to that at some point when switching from automated to manual controls but I can't remember what it came from and it's been kind of drilling at the back of my mind lately.
>>23395892It's just a plane pilot thing, no?
>>23395892The "you have control\I have control" exchange is a real life thing for pilots to say because nobody wants a fuckup where someone assumes someone else is taking over but nothing was made clear and the plane crashes. It gets mentioned in various anime from time to time, but it seems like most people attribute it to Betterman. I'm almost 99% certain that a similar phrase comes up in Yukikaze between Fukai and the Yukikaze AI but I can't find a screenshot for the life of me.

>>23396137>I'm almost 99% certain that a similar phrase comes up in Yukikaze between Fukai and the Yukikaze AI but I can't find a screenshot for the life of me.About halfway through the first episode the onboard AI takes over to engage in some fancy evasive maneuvers. There's probably more later, given the nature of the show. Maybe I'll rewatch it just to find out.
I gotta buy & scan this one of these days. Steel Man Sigma, a 1964 Astro Boy clone credited as being created by Mitsuteru Yokoyama, but was actually drawn by Yoshitsuka Miyakoshi, who shortly after would do another Astro Boy clone, Space Boy Soran. Iโve seen multiple people describe Sigma as a spiritual remake of an earlier Yokoyama manga called Thunder Boy.
>>23397939>Space Boy SoranI think I saw an ep of that or two
I wonder if there's a compendium of the faux Atoms
>>23397948Well as far as animated Astro Boy clones, off the top of my head there was Space Patrol Hopper, Space Ace, Prince Planet, Space Boy Soran. As for manga, besides Sigma here there mustโve been TONS of uber-obscure Astro Boy clones.
So I dunno if Iโve bitched &/or moaned about it before in this General specifically, but between various other places Iโve bitched & moaned about EbookJapan & its you-need-to-literally-physically-live-in-Japan-full-time airtight region locking like a billion times at this point.
& since itโd be ridiculous to ask someone to to share their account or make one for me, if anyone knows anyone who lives in Japan, could you ask them if it would be less ridiculous for me to offer to pay them, with interest even, to buy & rip some manga for me?
>>23397939Since I mentioned Space Boy Soran, I ripped its manga which you can check out here if you're curious.

>>23397939I just blew 50 smackeroos on this like the impulsive, financially irresponsible dipshit I am so I can scan it.
Also why the fuck is he naked?
>>23398050Must be you. I don't live there and can buy just fine. When in doubt, just use Amazon/Raku.
>>23399852Well you need a Japanese mobile number to get a confirmation text to make an Yahoo Japan account with (ebookJapan is merged with Yahoo Japan), & Japanese phone numbers have more digits than American ones, & using fake ones don't work, I've tried.
>>23397939When this gets scanned there's a non-zero chance I might digitally edit pants onto every panel.
>>23402634tezuka gonna come back and sue you
