Had to sell my bike because the job market around here is fucked and I won't accept 50hrs week for a barely livable wage. I have considerable savings so I can outlast this economy until they realize hiring pajeets is not the way to go long term.
Anyway I couldn't justify owning a '''nice''' bike (10yo SV650 worth 3k kek) but I don't want to remain a nobike.
I'll try lowballing boomer bikes that've been sitting for years. Also thought about getting an old CB500 PC26/32 for a thousand eurodollars. Anyone here ever had one? I don't mind having to wrench and I guess it would be fun to have a beater to throw in corners.

I saw a tiny mouse in my garage 2 days ago and saw it again this morning. It was walking around under my bikes then escaped into the wall. I don't want to do anything because I'm too lazy and don't want to disturb it, but I have also heard stories of the mouse going into your airbox and eating the wires. How common is that really, on bikes that I ride at least every couple of weeks?

Didn't let them take the finger.
Middle knuckle is smashed and no longer a joint.
Have to have it pinned for a couple months and see how it heals.
Doc says tendon is heavily damaged but I can still move it. I dont need strength, just motion. Luckily I typically just use my middle finger for the clutch so still have 2 fingers to hold on.

i ride a 34,2in/870mm seat height super motard and i'm 5'5/165cm: you just need to get used to it with a couple of rides and you need to be a little more mindfull of proper foot placement when stopping on inclined roads
it's not a big deal especially since they are so light i don't even scoot with the ass to put the full foot down and use only the tip of one at normal stops.

only thing i don't like is if i have to go on the highway since here the speed limit is 130 Km/h so even on the right lane i'm at at a speed where air becomes a bit of a problem, add a windy day and it's not great with it being so light and tall.

It'll be nice to have both sets so I can switch it up if want to. Definitely not painting the OEM fairings.

One interesting thing I discovered though, RH side low sided seem to be more common than LH. Found a lot of used LH side OEM fairings on eBay that were still good from crashes, so I deduced that it probably means that. Though, the fairing that flew off at 160 mph on my buddy's gixxer was the RH side. I think that was more coincidence and freak occurrence than anything though.

I was working from the point of view that throttle hand position was definitely a problem. I noticed right away that because I’m used to having my arms fully extended to reach the bars I was moving my torso when the bar came in rather than my arm. Leaning down towards the bars, keeping my arms bent/loose, and keeping my eyes up helped alleviate this with regard to comfort but it didn’t fix the mental block that came with the terror every time I felt my handlebars full lock right which I never felt when they did the same to the left

Everyone who owns one loves it. There are two main complaints
>It's expensive
It's made in Japan, of course it's going to be more expensive than KTM slop. I think it will grow into its price like the old one did
>It's 5 speed
It's a dual sport, you'll barely get above 3rd off road and it can still cruise at 120km/h perfectly fine. 6 speed bikes like the CRF300L and WR250R rev just as hard in 6th as the DRZ does in 5th.
If 5 gears is such a big deal to you then this bike isn't aimed at you. It's a true 60/40 machine, leaning more to off-road than on.

desu one of my most contrarian opinions are that police rodeos are overrated and unfairly praised. While they are extremely talented and lowspeed maneuvering is a fun class of motorcycle sport I really don't think it translates all that well into actual riding the way people seem to imply it does.

Too much risk to your primary comms. I keep mine in a tank bag.

I currently run their 65s on mine. Great for wilderness, dogshit for road use, and the batteries go quick

I really just want a waterproof Android phone sized device with only GPS, wifi, and replaceable battery. I'm going to lose phone signal where I'm going anyway, so I don't need connectivity away from a router, and I make due just fine with open source map apps + gps.

This honestly. In high school I drove a delivery van and had to make 5-10 stops all across the city in a 8 hour shift. This was before smartphones and gps and everything. There was a big map in the warehouse and I would plot my route before hand to make an efficient route. I'd memorize the first stop and have a general idea of the complete route. After the first stop id look at my atlas for 2 mins and memorize the second route. Same for the rest. It became really easy.

It's a racebike, and The Ridge is an insanely twisty racetrack. Yes I think winning races is proof. All the bikes in that class had roughly equal horsepower.

I always thought the 80s were more popular than the 70s. Music, culture, motorcycles - everything peaked in the 80s. Why are they keep making so many 70's looking motorcycles instead?

Idk but I want my rebel300 back already and Honda should keep making bikes that look like the super four and vtr/vfr lines with their newer bikes. Tired of bugs. Return to 80s-90s half faired sports and standards that look as good as moto guzzis.

The 70s were the peak of Pure Analog. The 80s were where computers and fairings came in, and if you're going to go full fairings just make a modern sportbike. I guess an 80s or 90s retro sportbike would be defined by a chunkier seat+pillion+tail, less punishing ergos, and more interesting paint jobs?
