that anon probably meant Exo Rally
it is a Dakar game in space, you rally race 6x6 RCS-boosted moon rovers at over 200 mph while having to deal with typical rally game stuff like tire wear, dirt buildup, crash damage, and fuel use. it has full simulation value car tuning and physics as well as environmental challenges like rain, sandstorms, and micrometeor showers. there is a free demo on steam with a whole 8-stage rally available, though personally I found the actual stages to be criminally short, with rather poor checkpoint flow and a lot of intentionally annoying obstacle placement. for example In one of the later stages you are racing at night, in the rain, and can only see maybe 500 feet in front of you, there is a checkpoint and a sharp 90-degree left hander right in front of one of the pitch black dev structures that sticks out of the terrain that is used during the tutorial to teach you about using the RCS to brake. you won't see it until you slam right into it. there are some annoyingly and unnaturally-placed rocks in similar vein early in the rally. other than that i had no complaints. god tier game

uhhhhhhhh handbrake and use the rcs steering modifier button to get some yaw. that is kind of another one of my niggles, the handling of the machine seems a bit off, the tail end likes to kick into the air like it's still a front-engined truck and it doesn't pull itself around low-traction turns like you'd expect. could use another steering axle i think.

250 bhp
>Maximum power 250 bhp. No cars that factory spec came with a higher rating will be permitted, full stop. No exceptions.

the Chrysler 3.5 LH High Output from the 2008 Dodge Magnum produces exactly that figure. I was separately accused of minmaxxing simply because i picked a car explicitly within the rules and then also accused of trying to subvert the success ballast by simply asking if we can use wheel rate instead of spring rate for the spec physics so that heavier cars would not be unfairly punished with floppy suspension right from the start.

As it turns out my car was unfairly bopped before race 1 even started simply because I shared a half finished version of my car that was erroneously accepted as a final version (because people kept arguing with me about it), and i've run the first two races with over a Spork Juct (400 lbs) of extra weight and underpowered by at least 20 lb-ft. both the people who accused me of such nonsense blatantly cheated, Tunari literally gave himself hidden NOS by mapping a csp button to an alternate lut to raise his revlimiter in mid-race to produce 400hp and rr3 guy didn't calculate transmission loss into his Miata so he had only slightly more power than allowed.

but that's literally the comparison metric you are looking for
the average distance between two cars over a period of time needs a fixed distance to determine (like a lap or a rally stage), and then you calculate the difference between the two cars from the finish times and average speeds. beamng in particular has no way of directly calculating it. you will have to run both cars yourself with the hotlap function then do the math to find the difference.

anything goes but you must
1. find a listing for aw11 under 3k euroes
2.make sure its road registered (the real car)
3. download a mod of the car. the physics do not matter but make sure the 3d is the car. trim doesnt matter
4. enable developer mode in CM and unpack the mod's data in CONTENT tab bottom right corner button
5. download the donor physics and copy the midengine physics into the data folder that is generated. also delete data.acd in the car folder if that exists.
6. in CM showroom make sure your car GRAPHICS_OFFSET aligns so click "ALIGN WITH DATA" in CM showroom suspensions tab
7. your car is now ready upload it
(optional):
find the torque curve for your car because the one with the mod is likely wrong, type it into the power.lut (or just use the donor physics power)
8. fix the wheel diameters and transmission gear ratios

time spent: 40 minutes (7 minutes spent watching tesnari enable developer mode in CM tutorial)

i propose cyber formula /ovgpx/
>the only limit to power is your own ability to control the car and ac's physical limitations
>spec tire to keep it fair (t180 mod tires)
>creative cheating including directly offensive weaponry encouraged (i.e guns, jump jets, etc)
>success ballast

the only problem is the lack of tracks that can truly support cars that go over 300 mph and also everyone will be in their own postal code within 10 minutes, but the idea would be to run stuff like special stage route x and the t180 tracks in combination with longer rally-style stages such as domina coral bay, sort of like the racing that took place in the old speed racer cartoon. certain real circuits that are particularly funny or have lots of runoff or banking like daytona road course, adelaide, potrero de los funes and spa would also be included.

even a base model n/a is on the borderline. looking at mr2oc right now there are posts in the for sale section for n/as for less than or around 3k but they either don't run, haven't been registered in over a decade, or are for parts only. running cars are around 4-11k, and s/cs are 5-20k.
yes people are actually asking 20 thousand us dollars for a 40 year old backwards corolla. unlikely to find them any cheaper elsewhere.

i was also going to suggest a V6 fiero as those are almost exactly the same car, only have 5 less hp than an s/c mr2 and are usually cheaper but they have shot up in price too and the cheapest one on the internet is just under 4 grand

I don't understand physics at all.
I know Automation isn't a simulation you could build a real engine to but I assume things like "changing to this part makes smoothness and vibrations go up" are relatively accurate.
So I don't get why a cross-plane V8 is smoother than a flatplane V8. A flatplane V8 is basically two inline-4s welded together yeah? Which solves the inline 4's secondary balance issue by having more firing impulses? So why is a crossplane V8 more smooth? It isn't primarily balanced, though it does have twice the firing impulses.

This current ruleset is clearly causing too much drama. I propose a new format for the next series, designed to be more engaging and less about min-maxing spreadsheets.
**The /ovg/ Endurance Economy Series**
**Rule 1: Real-World Budget.** Each driver is given a budget of $5,000. You must submit a real classified ad for your chosen car that is under this budget. The remaining money is your 'parts and maintenance' budget for the season.

**Rule 2: Dynamic Performance Balancing.** Instead of success ballast, performance is tied to your budget. After each race, the podium finishers have a 'Podium Tax' deducted from their budget (e.g., 1st=$500, 2nd=$250, 3rd=$100).

**Rule 3: Performance Upgrades.** Between races, drivers can spend their remaining budget on performance upgrades from a pre-approved list. Each upgrade has a cost (e.g., 'Tire Upgrade Level 1' = $300, 'Engine Tune' = $600). This allows for strategic financial management.

**Rule 4: Reliability Simulation.** There will be a small, random chance of mechanical failure during a race, which can be reduced by spending budget on 'Maintenance' packages.
This system would shift the focus from pure driving skill to strategic management, creating a more dynamic and unpredictable series where being smart with your money is as important as being fast.

No one is "fighting the wheel" ya dinugs, he's just sawing a little bit. Partly to feel out what the front tires are doing, partly to correct for suspension movement. It's a modern econobox with highly assisted steering and zero feedback, you can tell from how he's holding the wheel that it's very light
Anonymous No.28686957 [Report] >>28687111
>>28686171
>>28686879
it's because when you steer into a turn at high speed, the momentum of the car can often make the car turn more than you initially expected, so by micro-correcting the wheel you can control some of this momentum. it is indeed as this anon says, kind of tough to feel what a modern car is doing through the wheel alone, but that guy's butt is telling him the car is turning a little faster than he would like, so he approaches the limits somewhat shakily.
wiggling the wheel under braking is something people noticed ayrton senna did during his career, and he allegedly did it to feel out the grip limits of the front tires before he went into turns, it allowed him to gauge exactly how the vehicle was going to react to a larger turn before he got to the apex so he wouldn't have to do the micro-corrections in mid-corner. it can naturally happen when braking on uneven surfaces as well, so what you are seeing in the video is probably a combination of these things.

whatever works. The heart of rally is actually rallying to a point; navigation. SS might get all the media coverage, but the bulk of mileage teams do over the week is actually driving from one SS to the next. THAT is what separates rally from other forms of racing. the fact the cars need to work on the road, and the fact teams need to drive them on the road. Both groups completely miss the point of driving and have convinced themselves that misery and complexity equals realism.
The truth is that Dirt 4 has been the peak rally experience for years. It's the great filter. It's not for sim autists who need to spend three hours on a setup to feel something, and it's not for arcade zoomers who need a rewind button every five seconds.
Its entire gameplay loop, especially 'Your Stage', is built around forcing the driver to adapt and react, not just memorize braking points on a static track. It's the purest test of reactive skill available in a game.
You guys can keep arguing about tire models and FFB minutiae. Some of us will be having actual fun.

yes, but first make rally games have real stages with proper stage lengths (20+ kilometers)
ideally it would be semi-open stages where configurations change between events: not just exact same stage forward and reverse, but also sections going through different routes

that would probably be the best of both worlds between procedurally generated stages (which, while a proper challenge, are a bit sterile) and stages modeled on real ones
