I hate how dichotomous this is. /pol/ doesn’t understand that there’s a middle ground between a liberal arts degree from a four year university and being a plumber or truck driver.

You can be a machinist by just going to a community college. Or work as some kind of instrument tech in a vast array of places. BMET’s are related to instrument techs, and they make at least $55k to start, some sources say $65k (it shoots up significantly with experience, especially with various licenses and qualifications).

But no, go be a plumber or brick layer or some other low IQ bullshit.

The people that deliver soda are not vendors. They work for the soda company. You can make a lot of money as a vendor if you can get good routes. I know a bread man that makes 6 figures, but he starts his routes at 3 am. He also bought routes from other vendors to get more stops.

The job takes zero brains I would at times listen to audiobooks while I work. It's not about intelligence. It is needing to sort thru and organize a bunch of pallets with limited space in stores, needing to move around with customers in way with rules set by stores about it, needing to build displays or fight to get them, being pressed to get certain places in time with odd schedules at times needing to be there at 4am, having to deal with a direct manager and a salesman, the pay is absolutely shit you will get 150% pay easily at a place like Amazon, you don't get paid at all for your gas while driving your own car everywhere, it's very physical in needing to pick shit up all day, you need to pay attention to experimentation dates too because believe it or not soda expires, your sales manager if he is a dip shit will analyze your work and scrutinize it cause it impacts his sales, you are tracked by a gps at all times on a phone they give you, you need to deal with asshole managers at grocery stores and suck it up following all of their rules for their stores, during busy seasons like a spring break in a city the sales are insane shit sells out fast and you need to keep restocking, zero advancement opportunity as a merchandiser besides maybe becoming a sales manager which doesn't pay much more. I have done a lot of these jobs I was a sales account manager for a wine company as well

I could keep going. If ur desperate do this job. If not find something else

Also you are not staying at 1 store. You are doing 4-6 a day. Some take almost no time and big grocery stores in a city centric time can take hours as you may get literally 4-5 pallets of shit that you need to magically find a way to fit in your designated spot cause there are other companies like wine, beer, other soda companies, the grocery stores stock and a bunch of other things. You have to break it all down too so what you need will be reachable and not to take all the crap down every time. Also you may need to use things like plastic wrap at times to prevent stuff from falling, wheel out while pallets to build displays or if under certain rules by stores cause they don't want customers seeing pallets need to take it all bit by bit. At times managers change their mind and you got to take shit down you built

Costco is giving two cost of living raises in the next 2 years and top of scale pay at premium locations (+$2/hour) will be $36.90. You don't even have to work in a store, you can be at an MDO warehouse where you just move large merch with a bunch of bros. Anyone off the street can get hired, they don't acknowledge prior experience, they train you in their ways. Even collecting carts, you start at $21/hour.

He is not a truck driver. Companies like Pepsi + coke have a truck driver that drives a 18 wheeler and drops the soda off at the location. Then the guy in pic of thread drives to store in his personal car and sorts thru it all organizing it. Then you have a third guy who is a sales account manager who is who places the deliveries for certain stores. Then you have your own personal manager that managers the merchandisers who stock maybe like 8 of them. You are all familiar with the other merchandisers as you may need to take care of each other's stores at times or help each other.

At times these jobs include a hybrid where you do both the stocking and the ordering. Some other companies like wine the stores may have an automated system that orders the stuff and workers stock it at other places they want you to stock everything. It really depends.

You need to view the world more realistically. Not everyone can do something meaningful with their lives. The vast majority of people don't and that's been the case for all of history, everywhere in the world. And hell, most "meaningful" work doesn't matter either. Oh you worked in an office programming software for people to do their taxes or something. Who gives a fuck? Someone has to do the shitty "meaningless" jobs, and it's either going to be one of your fellow citizens or it's going to be some imported jeet or nigger that will make your country worse to live in. The bread guys make much more because they purchase their routes. It cost them hundreds of thousands of dollars. They are independent contractors. They may hire an employee to do this route for them or do it themselves. They are not controlled by a major company like Pepsi or coca cola but they need to make a huge personal investment they are essentially a business owner. Their income will vary a lot on the sales they generate in stores by the ground they cover in stores by getting shelf space around it and maintaining relationships with stores. This is an entirely different field than working for a big regulated corporation

Nah... WinCo grocery for example tops out at I think $26-$28 per hour and then +$1 more for the overnight hours. I don't know what vendors make but I'm sure it's somewhere in there. Then it's just hours VS route size...

For one, 52k on paper is comfy to a neet. But that's before taxes. Secondly you're on salary so no overtime. You work your route every fucking day until the jobs done. Start at 4am to get the head start, bam weather, bam traffic, bam accidents on the highway. You drive 100s kms a day
And most your days end up being 12hrs long or more sometimes because some chinkoid or brownoid got their license rubber stamped and pulled an illegal u turn on the highway killing a family of 3. Now you're sitting in a box truck for 5 hours more of your day while they investigate.
Some people are okay with that life. It wouldn't be for me.

-Being on salary and constantly working 45-50 hours a week despite only supposed to work 40
-Getting grilled on gp by the store manager in gap analysis
-either Having head management fuck with your orders and having half the shit go to shrink or not ordering enough and getting torched for that

From the perspective of a former grocery manager (another suck-ass job that barely pays enough to keep your neck above water and your shift schedule is shit), that seemed like a tough job. The guys were always nice but they also had their stock in the back in designated areas, which was helpful for the odd stash on-hand for customers. Also, people have to understand the soda aisle is a separate thing in a lot of ways from the store. Those shelves are independently stocked by the vendor. The store may have stock left on-hand in stores like the one I managed, but most don't. Anyway, don't fall for the grocery and merchandiser scam. I was also a merch manager in-store for a high-end bookseller and your life is working as your schedule constantly changes for no fucking reason. Two days off, then turnaround shifts then another 24 hours off but you're working 2-10 suddenly for three days straight, then 36 hours off until your 6 AM shift the day after next. Retail sucks. It pays just enough. But you have to give up stability of schedule.

Once again, it is really sad to see how far your nation has fallen, that this is your instinctual answer. There was a time, when studying in oxford was considered a thing of pride in STEM. Now we avoid anything west of Vienna here. Don't get me wrong, i'm sure there are still great minds in the UK, it is after all the land of "lets wallace and gromit our way out of this shit". But you do seem to have an incomprihensibly retarded government and a culture crumbling under it's own good will and humanity; preventing your greats from emerging.

Well i worked on forensic and diagnostic methods for a while, mostly catching rapists and helping diagnose Alzheimers and IR early. Now i'm more focused on more permanent, long tearm solutions to heart diseases, mostly single treatment methods. So you don't have to take pills all your life.
Anything can be misused by vile men in politics, and all men in politics are vile, but there is still plenty of room to do some good too.
It's not my main reason for doing what i do, i'm not that much of an altruist or egotist, i just really enjoy lab work and research, i find it fun. But it does feel better when what i do has benefit to my countrymen.

its not that i find joy in your suffering
its that you find joy in "humblebragging" about "muh wife"
it's humorous to me, because i have seen these cycles unfold from start to finish
so when someone like you is in the "honeymoon" phase
of life, it's humorous to think in juxtaposition to where you will likely be
where so many before you have ended up
and when people like you think it's reasonable to
compare yourself to others, or pretend
that because you found "a wife" at "uni"
that somehow if any random average guy
"follows the rules" he will "have what you have"
it's just funny because it's such a bizarre and distorted
reductionistic way of thinking
that imagining the cycle closing with your humbling
is satisfying in its own right
as it serves as justice against your thinly veiled
attempts at seeming humble while asserting your superiority
you make me sick

Because going to college isn't just about making money but also setting up good habits, challenging yourself, making connections, having fun, new experiences, becoming independent, and I guess learning so you can have some knowledge/skills for a career?

Also only poor minded or NGMI types care about """wages""".
Wages are taxed at a higher rate than cap gains, distributions, dividends, or just about everything else.
Professionals know it's the benefits/bonuses/commission/equity rather than the wages that matter.
The business/investor/wealthy folks know to avoid W-2 income if possible.

I literally """"paid"""" myself around $30K a year 1st 10 years of work and recently upped it to the $40K range.

I personally found his life story to be very compelling. Being gainfully employed with benefits? Wow that's some faggot shit, I would rather smoke weed and deliver pizza as a grown man instead.

Yeah, fruit packers and completely unspecialized construction workers, that is carrying buckets of clay around, earn the same as most degrees.

However that has to do with the extremely saturated markets, what are we supposed to do with all the accountants and business administrators when they outnumber businesses themselves?

Craftsmen and technicians like plumbers, electricians, carpenters, insulation technicians and such on the other hand can make that salary in a day.

The tuition is still less than £30,000 in the UK for an average degree, where they get you is the student accommodation rents which is more than the tution.

i wonder how many generations of pharoah larp it will take to realize their lives are miserable and meaningless now. tikkun olam past the point of no return. when doing nothing wouldve been preferable to you having involved yourself, you know you might be jewish

From my time working at a grocery store, my understanding of the best jobs there are as follows:

>Meat department
Union job getting paid significantly more than the other departments
>Beer restocker
Outside company that was also a union position in my state, I'd imagine they're getting paid better than the chip and soda people.
>Unloader
Fork lift certified meme, don't deal with customers, paid decently.
>Night manager
Lord of the shelf stockers. Guy who had the job at my store was cool, would blast slayer over the sound system and didn't need to act like a dick to impress other management because they weren't there.

$52,000/year is like $2200/mo after taxes.

This was OK money when an apartment was $600 a month and a 5 year old car was $5000.

we made SAP software for medical companies, as well as food and clothing companies, which allowed to process data from machinery and keep things smooth, if our software breaks for 2 hours hundreds of thousands of medical supplies won't be produced, but i guess i should be paid the same as a faggot stocking soda on the supermarket with no high school diploma right?
