But more importantly, basing the chart on the percentage married at 30 is very skewing, since the average age for first marriage has increased from less than 30 to over 30 in the time span covered by the chart.
There has been a decline in the overall number of men who are married over the last 75 years, but it is not nearly as dramatic or precipitous as that chart makes it seem.
