I don't really blame Pirate that much for this even though I hate him and wish him nothing but the worst, I kind of blame Trump.
SKG was struggling to get peoples' attention during Biden, a comparatively "boring" administration. The current one is going out of their way to draw attention and freak people out like every week. SKG regaining momentum was a long-shot before the political circus arrived. Afterwards the thought of it breaking out enough for people to engage in some activism over it was impossible. Too much overwhelming shit happening.
