a lot of the costumes are just assetflips from Mario Kart Tour but even in that game DK only ever got one costume while everyone else had dozens but even then DK's costume in world isn't a tour assetflip it's a brand new costume so who knows that the fuck their deal is

What is the logic behind this? He's fucking 10 years old with his whole life ahead of him. Winning a regional tournament doesn't mean shit when the kid doesn't even fight any of the Elite 4 let alone the goddamn champions until Journeys. Like shit until then the closest equivalent he had were the Frontier Brains in Hoenn.
