The new Chapters fucked all of my theories, but at least it confirmed that Kris wasn't buckbroken about the SOUL, at least in a normal route. If anything, what's really fucking with them is being coerced by Carol into doing all this shit because of whatever promise they made. It makes the Spamton NEO battle so much better, because Kris was freaking out because they can actually see themselves in Spamton instead of sperging out over the fact that the SOUL is controlling them.

Kris could just be exhausted from all the shit they have to do on top of theri excursions to the Dark Worlds. In the span of 24 hours, Kris has done the following:
>Clear the Cyber World
>Create the Fountain in their house based on the orders they were given
>Enter the bunker to get a briefing on whatever bullshit they have to do next
>Seal the Fountain (and possibly wait for Susie to repair Tenna)
>Kris is doing all this running on one good meal a day on average
It's honestly a miracle the poor kid hasn't yet collapsed due to physical exhaustion. I don't think the SOUL has anything to do with it.
