But as someone who actually read Homestuck live, I can't recommend it in any capacity because seeing how it turned out was the worst experience I've ever had with media, and I'm still angry about it a literal decade later. All the hopes and dreams I had for the story, what happened to the community, how Hussie turned out, it was all just awful. Maybe it isn't as bad as an archival reader because you don't have to deal with any of that, but I don't wish anyone to have to experience what I did so I just can't recommend it in any capacity.

I know, it physically hurt me to read it back lol. Thats what I get for rushing flipping my vpn on and off lol. I can get that, I feel that way about some series. But to me, the highs of acts 3-5 outweigh the shittyness of 6. ive reread it a few times so I think I've built up a tolerance to act 6 bullshit for better or worse, the only shit that pisses me off every time is the final vriska sub-act, theres nothing redeemable for 1000 pages. Game Over is pretty pretty kino though, as is John completing his quest and bullying caliborn. I read it on release too but I think it pissed me off less since my investment dropped so much from the pauses. I didn't get angry, I just stopped caring once Vriska came back, and felt mildly relieved when they finally went through the door.
