Depends. If you played it without doing the Sword/Knight content then yes its arguably the weakest chapter. But those parts specifically are so, SO fucking amazing that they retroactively make the lesser parts tolerable.

yeah that's my big issue with the whole 'abusive/molester dess' stuff, just going off of how the game treats her absence and how kris never seems to go against everyone's fond memories of her it doesn't seem like he perceives her as a bad person, and that's not even bringing up the obvious parallels between what poses kris and the knight do and the whole musical inclination making it seem like she directly inspired him in some ways
but despite all that i fully expect we're gonna start seeing more abusive dess content from the fandom, that tumblr art someone posted earlier that was basically 'bipolar dess sacrificing kris to the devil for the lulz' is just a harbinger of things to come

see to me mike feels more like one of those cases where toby clearly didn't think of anything past "that guy spamton and tenna talk to", then when CH2 got dropped on its own and everyone got hooked onto mike he decided to give mike SOME sort of presence past 'the backstage guy', hence why he also got the switch 2 gimmick fight
meanwhile, the knight? the MAIN VILLAIN of our tale so far? no way toby didn't already have a clue as to who he wanted the knight to be at the start, whether it's dess, the unknown mother that would eventually become carol, or rudy, that shit was on toby's chalkboard from day one
