I don't think that the D-sickle is even that bad against predator bugs. It puts out a lot of damage and it's pretty accurate. You just need to have enough situational awareness that you notice the bugs coming and mow them down before they get in close. The Talon is one of my favorite sidearms against the predators. A predator stalker dies to one single headshot from the talon, and you can fire off 5-6 shots in extremely rapid succession. If your aim and trigger discipline is good, you can tear the predators a new one. Alternate between the two weapons depending on the situation. Talon when you need to fight on the move, Dsickle when you're in a good firing position to lay down fire.

I think EAT would be better than quasar. You don't see too many heavies on predator bugs, but having an option to kill them quick is good. The shield diaper is a red flag though. It kind of tells me that he's generally oblivious to his surroundings, so he's probably not even spooling up his sickle until the stalkers are already tearing him a new asshole. Guard dogs, the jump pack, or supply pack would all give him greater mileage.
