Random bitching about Undertale but why does Toby hate self defense?
Like I can understand not wanting to like kill Toriel or even Papyrus because they go out of their way to not harm you.

I understand the narrative Toby is trying to tell but it feels like Deltarune doesnt have this problem because you have to REALLY go out of your way to kill somebody and the game more understandably wants you to evacuate everyone from the dark world because youre gonna pull the plug on it and that will kill everyone who is inside it when you seal it so the kindness is a lot more warranted than "i am going to kill you because I want to take your soul to become popular on the surface"
It feels like Undertale completely whitewashes the monsters. Especially like the royal guards who are explicitly and intentionally trying to kill Frisk only for you to set up a gay bara scene for two of them.
Like I get it Undertale is about how if you try really hard you can befriend everyone and save the day. Like the thing is in shit like Moon Remix, none of the people youre trying to save have the capacity to kill you compared to the Undertale monsters. And despite your ability to save and reload you can still fall down and die (represented by you quitting the game). Asgore or whomever killed other humans before you.

It comes across as kinda frustrating to be told to basically be Jesus while everyone slaps you in the face.
