You should absolutely check your hardiness zone and find plants that can survive at least one zone higher and lower. It'd suck to have one cold winter or hot summer and lose them.
If it's something that isn't necessarily to everyone's taste right off the bush, that also makes them less likely to get stolen.

Aronia berries have the most antioxidants of basically all fruits and making a jam out of them is easy as hell. It's even auto-fertile, so you only need one.

You could be growing all sorts of weird, delicious fruits that would cost you an absolute fortune to purchase.
These aronia berries have more antioxidants than basically anything else. Ridiculously good for you and buying the plant costs less than buying a few hundred grams of berries.
