His tragedy is that he's got too much knowledge (Kris made the Dark World) but not enough knowledge (Kris is working for the Knight, is being controlled by someone else and no longer enjoys the kinds of games he's giving them)
Even if he hadn't gotten kidnapped Kris wouldn't have brought him to Castle Town because he knows they created the Dark Fountain and can't let that info leak
However because he DID just disappear that means there's hope for him showing up again later
