>Can someone explain why Calcazar is wrong?
I can't. There is honestly no reason to stop him, he is such an example of a "did nothing wrong" villain it actually kinda sucks in a way. Because even game struggles to come up with a reason why should you even bother follow him to stop his plans. Kinda like with Kreia in Kotor 2.
>Wouldn't a c'tan be able to close the great rift?
This would seemingly suck for all creatures with soul. This used to be a natural state of the galaxy anyway and Necrons almost managed to sever connection of galaxy from the Warp which is why those Pylons were there around the Eye of Terror.
However back in Old Ones time Warp didn't suck like it does now with Chaos Gods

I know some people in 40K community hates this, but I kind of wish that Nomos was canon, some insane inquisitor decided that humanity needed to level the playing field and thought having our own dragon shard was the play. Sure, Nomos gotta eat a few suns to sustain itself but that's a small price to pay

It's not. Dark Ages were ~2000 to ~2011. Every genre worth shit died there. Strategy games of all varieties were dead. cRPGs were dead. Stealth games were dead. Only thing that existed were godawful, linear brown and bloom shooters and action games, which were designed for fucking gamepads on top of this lol.
Ever since vidya got FAR better. Dead, proper genres were revived. Consoles lost to PCs, exclusives proved to be a mistake, AA devs started to live and experiment and there is far more variety in games in general. Even AAA shit got better. New IPs are being created constantly and turn out to be a massive successes out of nowhere. It's actually great now, only actual problem are political leanings of game creators.
