>two late model vehicles on finance, probably at 10%+ apr
Holy shit, they may as well have put it on a credit card at that rate.

>Watch normies bid millions of dollars for a home ur parents bought for $50k
I think that's called being really stupid. It ties up a ton of equity in the property, not to mention taxes, fees, interest, and just opportunity cost in general. It doesn't improve their quality of life much, if anything it worsens it because now they have to slave away just to make the installments.

I've worked in these studios before, and here's why this happens:
>most western dev studios are in blue cities (LA, San Diego, San Fran, Seattle, and so on), which means the local talent are left-of-left liberals
>these people are typically a minority in studios, but they're loud enough to bully everyone because 'you don't want to be on the wrong side of history'-type nonsense
>HR doesn't care beyond making sure the company doesn't get sued, and since most of HR are women, they get swept up by the emotional appeals
>the meat and potatoes devs (75% of devs doing actual dev work and not make-work jobs the diversity hires usually occupy) don't care and just want a paycheck
>then, when industry layoffs got real bad in 2021, it just became 'I don't care how woke or shit the game is, I need the job because I want my salary and benefits package' and people just keep their heads down
Like other anons pointed out, in almost all studios, you don't get paid extra if you make a blockbuster hit. You might, at best, get some meager bonus of a few thousand on your next paycheck (fully taxed, goy), but that's it.
To a lot of devs, it's just a job you do from 9 to 6 and that's the end of it.
>mfw I'm working on a project I know is going to bomb when it releases (but I'm the dog and don't care)
