Not based. The problem with HMs is how you have to gunk up your move set just to travel the world. I get that you should incorporate Pokemon into your travel. But you can do that with natural HMs inherent to each species. Like Water pokemon can surf. Bug and Grass pokemon can Cut. Ice Pokemon can die
>game has 2d sprites for characters and pokemon, wirh only some 3d environments, also grid movement like before gen 7
I'm hit or miss on this. The problem isn't Pokemon being 3D, the problem is GF is fucking lazy and they have both a shit artstyle and a shit world

Impractical. I've talked about this before but no one can agree on what Hard Mode means. Better movesets? Smarter AI? Gym Leaders that aren't trapped into a single type?

I don't think the 2 are mutually exclusive. You can have subplots that tie into the main plot
