>And steam just accepted a vn where you plow your blood related loli little sister.
...With all the remotely risque content ripped out and put in an off-site patch, basically turning the Steam build into a glorified voucher. Meanwhile, last year they banned a censored version Tokyo Clanpool which had the Ether Induction minigame (which accounts for 90% of the game's lewd) removed. And they banned a fucking all-ages Key VN with no sexual content at all because it happened to feature a scene of a mother breastfeeding her infant. No western game would ever be banned for such a reason; Valve is waging all-out war on Japanese games.

The last Gal*Gun release on Steam was in 2021. Going by precedent from 2023 (censored version of Dungeon Travelers 2 banned) and 2024 (censored version of Tokyo Clanpool banned, all-ages VN Key VN with no sexual content banned), there is little reason to believe they would accept another Gal*Gun game. I don't know why Inti thinks Nintendo is still viable after the Neptunia Re;Birth bans and Tokyo Clanpool being censored, but being insiders I guess they might know something I don't.

Valve has been banning games with similar aesthetics by smaller Japanese developers for half a decade now, and now it seems they are getting bold enough that they're going to ban a major gacha game that's on the Google and Apple stores and backed by a major megacorp and a large, vocal fanbase. If they're willing to ban fucking Blue Archive, it's over for moe anime games on Steam, period.

Oh, and if Aquaplus does get bought out by chinks like Tencent, worst-case scenario they'll probably be moved to doing nothing but gacha. Happened to a lot of companies that got bought out by chinks or gooks. Key too, although they're evidently still allowed to do VNs from time to time, just not eroge because China has a hard ban on all pornography.

They have one, IIRC, but they still do all-ages VNs. One of which got banned from Steam at the end of last year.

do people really believe that steam forums influence the review process more than some some numale's PMS?

Steam banning Chaos;Head caused a major uproar among gamers to the point major journos were covering it. On top of that, it released on Switch normally, so now Nintendo of all things was looking more mature than Valve. The full spectrum of gamers and gaming media bashing them for the ban along with the the terrible optics of looking bad next to fucking Nintendo combined to make them kneel and overturn the ban. They only did it for Chaos;Head and explicitly stated they would not be reviewing prior bans, and it's a situation that will likely not repeat, especially as Nintendo has since adopted the second-worst censorship policies of the big three, behind only Microdick, so they can no longer be counted on to keep Valve honest and Steam is now, in spite of everything, the least-bad of all major platforms when it comes to censoring Japanese games, so they have no incentive to change.
