more control over the shooting by free turning, but it's a very different game structurally. romance is optional, there are no stats, and it's more of a campaign over a few hours rather than a rail shooter with light dating sim comedy on top, taking the time to do tasks and missions for the girls and fighting demon stuff. which means you're also basically recycling the same areas for hours on end. your ending is determined by your missions you pick, rather than what choices you made and the stats that could allow them to happen in prior games.
it's a game that was definitely made for the interaction of VR more, but it's kind of a lot more to work through as a result, compared to the other games being like, an hour and a half runs of shoot em up stuff per run.

IGA's story with Konami is very much like Inti Creates' or Inafune's story with Capcom. The difference is that when trusted with creating a spiritual successor to Mega Man, Inti and Inafune immediately threw in the towel and decided they wouldn't tackle projects that big ever again. And that's because they don't have the kind of content Tokyo Clanpool had. CERO B/C games vs a CERO D game. Significant difference there. Nintendo AT THE LEAST won't take it for a global release (which is more important than ever now with the Japanese market shrinking) and may even censor it in Japan/Asia.
That's all four major platforms. 90+% of gamers don't even know any storefront outside those four exists. All together they account for over 90% of the market. It is extremely difficult for any game that can't release on them to be successful, and those that were can literally be counted on one hand.
