>>Flares basically don't work, especially on helicopters so they have zero missile evasion options
skill issue, you suck. throttle back, dont point your fartpipe directly at the enemy seeker, use multiple flares (or just pre-flare)
>>AI is basically braindead and will often crash into each other on the ground all trying to taxi and takeoff at once
They arent awful in combat but their taxi behavior is pretty shit, and tarantulas just suicide 30% of the time when trying to deliver something
>>Barely any missions or content
Not many short scenario missions, but there are lots of user missions, and you can get lots of hours out of escalation/terminal control/confrontation
>>Aircraft all essentially handle the same and there are no performance penalties or limitations to loading one down with as many bombs or missiles possible
the weight comment is just lying, you can very easily tell the difference between a plane at MTOW and one lightly loaded, or even if you have an asymmetric load with heavy bombs/missiles

the flight models aren't super characterful, but I noticed some differences while doing dogfight training
>vortex loses energy FAST and you basically need to end a fight in the first turn against the others
>the compass has a crazy sustained turn rate (and roll rate) and can 2-circle most fighters, but loses in the vertical for obvious reasons
>the revoker doesnt have the same roll authority as the compass/ifrit at low speeds, but makes up for it with amazing yaw due to 3D vectoring nozzle
>the ifrit is just better than everything else in most cases, but thats kinda the point for the price
there are enough differences to matter, at least in fights against other players

>>Overall lacks a lot of polish and has the most placeholder UI of all time

All the planes are very controllable compared to pretty much any other sim due to all the planes having fly-by-wire. PW and AC planes don't fly like real planes, they are on railway tracks and don't lose energy.

nuclear option
>finally land my last bullet on this guys engine, he still has one more
>decide to follow him around and try and get him to crash since I want that kill confirmed
>just ends up being a 14 minute drunken retarded dance until one of us runs out of fuel

There is a 120 x 100 km map that is mostly land and a 180 x 120 km map that is mostly sea. There is an editor for making your own missions and you can download more off the workshop. Most of the fun is in the Escalation game mode, where both sides start off with the cheaper aircraft and no nukes, before escalating to more powerful aircraft, and then tactical nukes, than strategic nukes.

Okay, I actually DID have to run this guy out of fuel lmao

Took out one engine with my last bullet (out of 500) and then just followed him out of spite
