They just seem a little weird

Something I just realized about Coffin is that Renee and Doug seem to be one of the few married couples who actually still like each other. I'm mostly referring to married couples in serious shows/movies. Obviously everyone gets along in lighthearted stuff. But, in serious stories, I often feel like none of the couples get along. You often have husbands who refuse to share things with their wives or wives that never cut their husbands any slack. Lots of couples that make you wonder why they're even still together.
But with Doug and Renee, they are clearly still in love. Despite the poverty and unwanted children and parasites, they're always there for each other
