Knight and Carol aren't even working together, Carol is a red herring. Not only a knight but also not actually nefarious. Knight is working with Asgore and Carol just happen to walk in and she's also familiar with Kris because he used to be close to Noelle and she hopes Kris and Noelle would bond again after Dess dissappeareance. Its the same "fake evil scene" as Kris smiling and getting his knife at the end of chapter 1. Carol is a fucking red herring as much as her Katanas on the wall.
