Get a P.O. Box, open a bank account, then immediately get a job. Spend the first two weeks sleeping on park benches, washing clothes in running water somewhere, like a kid's park, etc. Ask for food, or wait by restaurants and get the food they throw away at the end of the day.

After the first check I'd get a gym membership for a better, safer place to shower. Buy some more clothes from Walmart, buy hygiene products (body wash, deodorant, toothpaste, etc.). Buy a tent, a pillow and basic sleeping gear. Then budget the rest for better food.

The next few checks would be for food and saving up for a car.

After getting a car, I'd start saving up to get a studio/1-bedroom apartment.

Also, the government doesn't even know what you own anyways. Any in-person trade, especially with cash isn't even on the books. Even if you buy with a card online, the 3rd party card-issuer/bank doesn't know what specific items you bought, they just know how much you spent and at what store. The store doesn't keep any financial records past 7 years in most cases, so your order number is permanently lost by that point anyways. They probably don't even keep it past 3 years in most cases.

The reason you stay secretive, keep your shit in a safe, put up security cameras and in some cases have insurance, is to prevent the possibility of some crackhead losers robbing your house when you're at work, and having a claim if they do.

Nobody is worried about some professional jewel theif doing some Mission Impossible shit to steal your PMs. Those guys would rob a jewelry store, or a BRINKS truck. And most crime like that is digital now anyways.
