I think the ESOism is based on the idea that coldharbour is supposed to be a cold, dark place, and cold colours like teal help communicate that. It's why the blue/teal auroras in skyrim are superior to the golden and orange ones when it comes to the atmosphere of a nordic country.
I'd say you could give it a go and report back how it looks, I'd honestly be interested in seeing it.
