People haven’t quit. FFXIV still has higher numbers than Stormblood so unless your “friend” was a WoWfugee (read: waste of space), he didn’t leave. FFXIV is still going strong and most people are happy with the content.

The game is fine, just ignore Macchi/Barry and all the doom posters. People only have criticisms of Dawntrail to seek attention. Everyone else likes DT and 7.2. If you don’t, just go play other games. Ignore the haters because they just need to go play other games. Unlike Wow, FFXIV lets you take breaks. I’ve been taking a break for 11 years and have no reason to come back, but that doesn’t mean FFXIV is a bad game, I’m just respecting my time.

Fully agreed. I love doing the same shit over and over again while getting nothing in return. That’s why we still have more players than WoW. FFXIV has its highest population if you take out the COVID and post-COVID years. FFXIV is such a fun game, I just can’t stop having fun doing the same thing I was doing in ARR.
