I feel like it's really hard to make new friends in this game, especially out of /xivg/.
People just want to ask about my mare or have e-sex with my female character. Doesn't hi and starts the convo demanding mare / moon / moondust. It's tiresome. I wish people would just chat normally with me and not expect me to spread my legs to them like every other whore you meet in the Steps of Nald. Ah well. Watching /xivg/ and the regular playerbase intelligence slowly erode away in real time is one of the hardest things I've experienced in this game.
Friendship means not, it's all a meet-n-fuck adventure to get others in private chambers to pose with their ugly mods or do some lame as fuck ERP session. Yep. This is what FFXIV is all about. Goon. Plap. Sex. This is what YoshiP envisioned and what is encouraged here.

Take this opinion from someone who doesn't think the game is dying but definitely thinks it's on the decline
If they go after mods, you're gonna notice an even sharper decline in players than what's already happening because of doomposting. Sure, the game will be "fine" but enjoy having even slower queues, less people in cities, less of your friends logging in, which will contribute even further to the narrative that the game is dying, causing players to quit.
That's the kind of thing about an MMO you don't want to snowball.
