The amount that UI and general, idk, workability of computer systems has declined is insane. Being used to how things were in the 90s/2000s and to see it get worse instead of better has to be due to DEI and women being hired. Nothing works fast anymore, it looks like shit, and isn't intuitive at all. Idk how you fuck up a menu to where you can't tell what is highlighted. Anyone else notice that shit? The simplest things are overly complicated and move slower. Back in the day there was this passion for games and computer stuff in general that I at least don't have anymore because of where it all lead to. Websites with 3-5 ads running on the screen and the obvious decline in gaming quality. It's weird to go from the 90s and having all of that have been fun and new and exciting to the current state of things which is basically tiktok rot and dei systems and gaming. I've basically given up on giving a shit about any of these things anymore. I was once really interested in IT and security and now I just can't see supporting this dystopia at all by working for it.
