You missed the golden age of SS13, the game is completely taken over by trannies and furries. People get banned for calling someone a retard. You can't actually utilize half of those cool mechanics unless you get an antag roll and even then you'll probably get banned anyways by some tranny janny if you actually do something cool/funny.

Lummox either just doesn't care that much about BYOND or is so broke and overworked that he can't really do anything about it. It's not like BYOND rakes in cash and most games and communities are still functional without the hub.

I can't imagine wizden actually wanting more SS13 players on SS14 since the playerbases are becoming more and more distinct, very few people actually play both and I seem to hear more about SS14 players coming to check out SS13 rather than SS13 players leaving for SS14. Even major, kosher SS13 servers have a different administration and development culture to SS14. At best it's being done to stop new players from joining SS13. Any SS13 bigwig server moving to SS14 will inevitably want to do things their way and piss off the tranny control freaks in SS14, even if the SS13 newcomers are trannies themselves.
