I personally think just scrapping the third board was a bit short-sighted from tobster. Give us a choice to either explore after the second board and find toriel (the only path right now) or mindlessly follow Tenna along and agree to the third board and after seeing how glitchy and hastily-made it is start questioning him and eventually either get to the mandatory exploration or talk your way into a gachapon prematurely. Having one singular path with no variation feels a bit wrong after chapter 2, but I guess it will remain an outlier
