Apokolips War, probably. I enjoyed the fact that the solution was literally to chuck Trigon at Darkseid like a grimdark pokemon battle. Also the rape allusions Trigon makes as Apokolips gets dragged into hell.

Snyder's vision for Superman is people dying all around him and he can't do much about it.
It's a recurring theme.
That's why its supposed to be so uplifting when he actually saves a family by applying his murder-skills.

1. Tornados are not some phenomena where just behind you they are throwing cars around like plastic grocery bags but it's a 3mph wind where you are standing.
2. Midwesterners do no just stand there under an overpass watching the supertornado creep up on them, they'd be in a ditch somewhere. Overpasses worked ONCE because people climbed up into the framework of them to be shielded from the wind.
3. Clark had sufficient time to just normal-run over there, throw Pops to the ground, and cover him with his Invincible body. Miraculous tornado survivals happen constantly.
4. Tornadoes, Midwesterners, Superman, the list of things Zack Snyder has no understanding of is incredibly long in this movie.

Cinematic fidelity is not a replacement for engaging well-written characters portrayed by quality actors.
Like the works of Zack, when the music stops blaring and people have to talk, the whole thing stinks like old fish.

Controversial.
He made Superman controversial.
Which is something most people buying tickets for Superman aren't interested in.
Which is why none of the controversial shit is hinted at in the trailers.
He directed Superman like someone who's only been exposed to one comic by Alan Moore, and only read through that once.
