A minor detail that I'm curious if Toby will ever elaborate on is who is the first person in Hometown to ever open up a Dark Fountain, like if it was a very long time ago, if it was actually more recent than you'd think, if it was somehow self-discovered, or if some kind of higher power revealed how to do it

Ralsei is just an avatar
his true body is that which castle town and the other dark worlds rest upon
He is the darkner of Hometown itself, a genius loci if you will, which is why he can appear in and move between any dark fountain freely without petrifying. he's not 'from' any one part of town, but all of it at once.
This is why he's used to both literally and figuratively, having people walk all over him.
The thing that happens at the very end of the prophecy that he was hoping to avoid is that if someone opens a dark fountain inside a dark fountain inside a dark fountain, it causes him to go berserk. He will try to kill the heroes, and they have to kill him to prevent the total destruction of the actual town. In other words, Ralsei and the Roaring Titan are one and the same

With all of the schizotheories we've been through over the past few days I think I've realized the #1 thing I'm most excited for is figuring out what the fuck is wrong with this place, even without the shelter there's clearly several other places that are just really "off":

I still think it's interesting that Susie's backstory is that she kept moving from place to place, because that highlights that there's shit outside of Hometown but that also means that something about this place is just uniquely fucked and brimming with evil as shit energy that's kept under wraps, like I have to assume that knowledge of making fountains is found only here and I wonder how much background detail Toby will go into this in the future
