Rimworld is far more neurotic where your guys eat everything fast as you can make it and they're always coming up with some new reasons to be going insane. There's far more individual maintenance in Rimworld.
DF is about maximizing returns from traders whereas Rimworld, traders just come and you dump stuff on them and one MIGHT have something you like. You might have a drug farm for them, but that'll be about it. It sounds nitpicky, but they end up playing as different games.
