Are there any written or checklist-style decomp tutorials out there instead of video? I'm watching Team Aqua Hideout but I find him difficult to follow. Concerned at the moment with adding moves. (My own moves, not Gen4+ moves, maybe that's a bad idea for a newfag)
One of them is sort of a Focus Punch riff. It differs in that if the user gets hit in the interim, their attack stat goes up one stage, and they still execute the move. It follows that I would want to just take focus Punch, copy it and alter it accordingly, but any FOCUS_PUNCH instance I can find has nothing about how the move fails if the user is hit so idk what to do there.
Maybe I could take Revenge instead as my jumping-off point, but then how would I get the FP style charge-up animation at the start of the turn?
Maybe I'm just shooting too high on this

I fucking hate the state of Modern Pokemon; and how incompetent Game Freak is compared to the rest of Nintendo and their related companies.
>Mario goes back to his roots with a collectathon inspired by the SM64, and other collectathons of the era
>Zelda gives you a huge sprawling open world to explore; sure we're all probably regretting it now, but back then it was revolutionary
>Kirby... admittedly stumbled at first, but the pink puffball's first fully 3D game in Forgotten Land more than made up for Star Allies' shortcomings
>Smash brings back everyone, and adds several long standing fan requests, such as Ridley, King K. Rool, and Banjo & Kazooie, before culminating in fucking Disney joining the roster with Sora. Your stance on the characters may vary, I fucking hate Sora, but there's no denying there will never be another game with Mario, Sonic, Mega Man, Cloud, Ryu, Simon Belmont, Steve, and Sora all on screen at once ever again
Meanwhile, Pokemon is actively getting worse and worse, and is making more than the series I've mentioned.
As long as shills like Joe Merrick are around, Pokemon will never truly be amazing. I just want it to be 2008 again and I'll actually feel happy playing a new Pokemon game...

>gen 3-4
>getting a good team is extremely tedious and annoying
>battle frontier with multiple cool facilities as postgame
>modern pokemon
>getting a good team is fairly easy and doesn't take long
>postgame only has a battle tower clone
It's just not fair. I just want a game with both a Battle Frontier and modern postgame teambuilding options.
