Noelle just weirdly has lines for EVERY item and equipment we get in the chapters where she's not present. Could be because she's joining us again in a later chapter, could be because she was meant to be in the party all along.

I think her current form as The Knight isn't related. Though she is very similar to the Shadow Men.
It could be another hint at ERAM being Dess fucking with Kris hard so they'll try and fight her more for the Shadow Crystal later though.

It's probably a bit more complicated than just Dess being the knight
I don't think Carol is the knight judging by the phone call at the end of the snowgrave route
But remember, Dess is supposed to be lost. It's FIND HER, not KEEP HER HIDDEN. And the moment in chapter 4 too, where the hand pushes Kris back. It doesn't sound like he's found her and just making her normal now. It sounds like she's still in the dark
The knight is clearly someone Kris respects a lot, and they copy a lot of the Knights' mannerisms, but there's still a girl lost in the code, and Kris is moving forward with things almost desperately now.
Maybe the knight is an aspect of Dess, but not really her in truth?

And it just so happens that in Chapter 3, we get this question and response from Tenna in the set path:

>...and switched to being a big fan of the fiery magician girl!
I think this is an intentional clue. This is describing what Dess is meant to be: a fiery sword magician girl. But she took the role of the Knight from Kris as part of their deal.
Also, Susie outright says that in Dragon Blazers 2, one of your party members is your sister who gets cursed.

I think the whole grand "concspiracy" is a thing where they're following the Prophecy but they're changing who is in what role.
Noelle was supposed to be Hero 2. Something bad probably happens to Hero 2. That's what the last prophecy was about, that Hero 2 would have to die to save the world.
To save Noelle, they've set up Susie to become Hero 2 instead.
