The latter is more independent from profits and driven by artistic vision alone, so the only thought process that happens for that work of art is contained between actual artists, not an executive board evaluating how profitable and marketable something will be.
My main point is: The people who Hasbro has hired ever since G4 ended are not people who treat art as art but as a commodity to signal their virtue, they're not on Tumblr anymore but they still seek that same high of getting attention by mere virtue signaling.
