Remake doesn't have hit detection, instead staged cinematic animations. From a purely technical standpoint, Silent Hill (1999) has actual hit detection, and thus has mechanically more complex melee combat. SH2 remake is actually a step backwards.

I'ts Unreal engine slop with assets. A total paint by numbers. Also ugly, ugly, characters with wonky body proportions. I am shocked people have such low standards and are that easily impressed.
