Orcs. Unbelievably. They were my first army as a kid and I adored their fluff, what with wackiness and the night goblins, trolls and squigs.

Last few years I went full metal autism on Chaos. Loved the idea of adventuring in the Realm of Chaos, endless setting within setting possibilities, awesome aesthetic and huge depth for characterisation. Even bought the 5th edition books and Slaves to Darkness.

Yet for some inexplicable reason, after playing a lot with Chaos, I now feel more drawn to Orcs. During my Chaos phase, I looked back at Orcs simplicity as a drawback.

Now I sort of like it again. It probably also helped reading about Gorfang Rotgut in the BL novels and desoite dying, good god he went down gloriousky! So weird. Also the Warboss from the Command set looks bloody amazing!
Need advice what to do next /tg/.

Currently I have a 1k army for WoC, 1250 if I change a few things or upgrade units to represent others. However it has become stale.

I realised most of my army just isn't that effective where my entire plan is based around my general and heavy cavalry hard carrying the entire game.

To this end, it has become extremely boring. Should I look to expand my army or start building a new one? Or just take a break?

As an example, there was a game where all my army broke upon crashing into a dwarf line and only till my knights and general flanked, suddenly was I winning.
After a but of pondering, I am wondering if swapping 5 chosen knights with 5 normal Chaos Knights and 5 Marauder Horsemen with flails would be worth it?

I lose the mini death bus of the chosen but now have my army more evenly spread than dumping all my eggs in one basket.

Thoughts?
Now that infantry has double rank attacks, assuming a rank 7-8 men wide with 3 ranks, how many chaos knights would I need to safely tear apart the front? 7-8? More?

Or should I just go full in on Chosen Chaos Knights with 6 or 7 of them dumping nearly 20 attacks?

Lets assume the enemy is dwarfs with great weapons.
Am I right in how cannons w9rk?

>choose place on field in range
>roll artillery and scatter dice
>this is where it lands

However the rulebook says you measure the artillery dice FROM the cannon?

I've mistaken Tempestus for the Strike Force Justian.
