I'm using a budget 180hz VA miniLED right now with an (subjectively) acceptable amount of black smear. I haven't come across a single IPS without some combination of glow, off axis silvering, backlight bleed, and mediocre contrast ratio. Literally 20+ IPS monitors ranging from $150 to $600 trialled. "It's inherent to the tech, bro!" Just like IPS white smearing, which IPS cultists never seem to mention. Enjoy those 900:1* contrast ratios, IPS bros.

Conversely, some of the new VA miniLEDs look absolutely gorgeous and can put up a good fight with OLED even in low APL scenes.
