The reasoning behind ETV is When ghost saves hornet in the void lake, there's a flash of Lord of Shades (implying that Ghost IS lord of shades) still. To be honest flower ending didn't imply that Ghost/LoS was gone completely, just that they didn't erupt into Hollow Nest. It closed the gate, but Ghost/LoS is still there. You can't kill a void god with just a pale flower. So Ghost found his way to Hornet.
Either way it's heavily implied that Ghost is Lord of Shades. So it doesn't matter what ending it is. I'm happy because I can power jerk over the goat ghost being the biggest, baddest sister fucker in the HK world, the god of gods.
I'm curious to see a Silksong player's reaction to playing HK pantheon 5 after silksong and seeing that.
