I've done pantheons 1-4 with all bindings at the same time, and I've done all radiant bosses. I still can't do pantheon 5 with all bindings at the same time. Pantheon 5 on its own is pretty easy, but I just can't do it with all the bindings. The Markoth into GPZ section kills 90% of my runs. I'm not going to be able to do it before Silksong. It may interest you to know that I've fought AbsRab twice on keyboard. Once in P5 and once in the Hall. I won both times. I've NEVER lost to AbsRad on keyboard controls.
It pleased me to no end. I then proceeded to try to Steel Heart the game like I did on switch but died somewhere and dropped the game out of bigger interest elsewhere.

If Silksong is a prequel, that's easy and the only thing that wouldn't make sense is how weak Hornet is when you fight her in Hallownest. If it's a sequel, idk. I forget whether the other endings would contradict too hard if we've moved the setting away from Hallownest for a sequel.

After you defeat the Hollow Knight your little Knight absorbs the infection and is sealed away buying the Hollownest a few centuries of peace

A lot of bug species are already intelligent like bees, mantis and snails, Pale King just gave feral cockroaches sentience

Near as I can figure, the Radiance doesn't exist in the physical realm, and throughout the game it is trapped away in the dream realm of the hollow knight. The Godseeker/s are looking for a replacement for the Gods of Rand and Thunder who abandoned them, and so they are basically infiltrating the collective dream realm of the hallownest hoping to usurp Radiance as their new God. When you face Absolute Radiance you are facing Radiance at the zenith of it's power and not the weakened form that is trapped in the Hallow Knight.

Godhome is the collective dream realm of all the Godseekers which is in the body of the Godseeker you meet in the Junk Pit. I believe that all the other Godseekers are dead or in some kind of spiritual form and just share a single body.

canon: she was a bargain chip from the pale king. herrah promised him to be a dreamer to seal the hollow knight and to try and quell tensions between hallownest and deepnest and bring their kingdoms together if the pale king gave her a divine child.

non-canon speculation: deepnest's relations with the pale king's civilization were very tumultuous so hornet was likely not received well by deepnest's citizens, hence why she was sent off to the hive to train under vespa and why she was named hornet. her original character concept was "daughter of three queens" (white lady, herrah, vespa) but it's not clear if this is what the actual lore is since there's nothing in game that states this outright.

The rules of this part of the lore play fast and loose and it doesn't make much sense but basically the Godseekers realm is some type of dream realm, and the Radiance is really contained in a dream. So when you summon the Radiance within the Godseeker realm, it is the real Radiance - as opposed to a make-believe theoretical version of a Godhome boss like Sisters of Battle which isn't actually real.
Killing the final Radiance in the Godhome pantheon actually kills it, and frees the Hollow Knight without killing him.

Black Souls, strictly speaking, is literally a Dark Souls 'parody' game.
It's got its gameplay mechanics and broader design structure, directly adapted to a 2D, turnbased RPG. Having a more original name would unironically be more dishonest. It's very much on purpose.
And Black Souls 2 adapts a ton from Bloodborne too.

It's less about spoilers in the sense of plot twists and more about wanting to enjoy the sense of the unknown. Part of the fun of exploring is not knowing what you'll encounter, and so the more you see in advance the less mystery there is, the more your imagination is constrained.
I've always disliked spoilers for this reason far more than anything to do with plot twists, so it always confuses me a bit when those are all people seem to talk about when the topic of spoilers comes up.

Yeah seeing a screenshot of a boss or area I haven't visited isn't going to ruin the whole thing or anything, but the way I see it the more I find out the more weakened that sense of discovery will be. More about magnitude rather than a binary "ruined or not ruined" like how some people act around spoilers.

I think games like ER and W3 benefit a lot from being front-loaded in their quality. Like, Stormveil Castle is the the best legacy dungeon in ER and the Bloody Baron is considered the best quest in W3 (though personally I think Hearts of Stone is better), this leads to a heightened perception of quality from game reviewers and casuals who only play maybe 8-10 hours leading to a contention of opinion for people who actually buckle down and finish the entire game.

I was planning to replay HK but when the actual release date came out I figured it was way too close. I don't want to burn myself out on the genre before the sequel comes out so I'll just wait and go in relatively raw.

When you kill the Absolute Radiance, you're actually killing the real thing. That's why the final cutscene shows Hornet confused as the infection disappears and the Hollow Knight stumbles out of the egg, finally free.
I hope this is the actual canon ending that Silksong carries on from, because the initial trailer for Silksong said "New Heroes" and it would be unfathomably fucking based if the Hollow Knight survived. A genuinely good ending.
