The catastrophic damage capeshit has done in influencing the newer writer generations cannot be understated, in everything from writing style (the infamous habit of burying everything under 1000 layers of irony rather than playing things with a straight face, a habit which really reeks of insecurity) to narrative devices, worst of fucking all the goddamn multiverse bullshit. Why the multiverse in particular? I'll tell you, for two reasons:
1) it gives license to recycle characters or stories ad nauseam, giving an in-universe justification for it, enabling the lowest creative effort
2) nothing matters in the story, because the character was never in any danger seeing how he's alive in the Vaginal Skullfuckosis universes #23042040274, #2378219371893719837 and #219378189371983719 anyway
