This scene in particular was VERY impressive to me back in the day with the heavy heat haze distortion.

In all HD releases, this effect is broken so that it only affects the subtitles. I'm serious... you can see the subtitles have a subtle heat haze distortion that you can barely make out. So the effects are still there in the code but somehow they got applied to the subtitles and not the game.

Only on original PS2 hardware, otherwise all the unique and cool visual effects Kojima used throughout the game and every cutscene are either missing or broken.

Ex: this heat haze effect is applied incorrectly to the HD release, so that it only affects the subtitles...
