I dont like the emphasis on moral and cool and stuff like that, sure it was rogue trader bullshit, but I dont think of space marines, super humans in tank armor, as being constantly pinned down by gunfire or scared of flamers and bullshit like that.
I know that sometimes they will need to fall back, I get that there are limitations, but this edition feels like it will be too much.
2 Legions have a ton of rules wanting to cause statuses, and 3 whole legions have defenses to try to stop them, which feels like too much effort and attention on it.
GW constantly pushes that marines are one man armies, "They Shall Know No Fear" yet this edition not only has them constantly getting spooked by everything, it rewards you actively putting them in that position.
Its one thing to be like "there are scenarios where even space marines need to fall back/take cover" and I totally get that, but then there is actively encouraging it to happen so often you think giving not just one legion, but THREE an out to it is something important.
It feels like the soul of the "space marine" as a brand is being cheapened just to nostalgia bait to a time period where space marines were different and pretend your making the game more interesting then it is. There is a line in the sand and they are crossing it.
Feels fucked man, performative.
