Sega's biggest mistake was making a billion different versions of Sonic. Mario never had this problem, he's the same in everything he's in. Meanwhile, Sonic has an entirely different setting, tone, and personality in everything he's in. Get rid of all the "alternate takes" and just make one GOOD version of Sonic.

Batman earned the right to have multiple different interpretations of it, Sonic hasn't.
