>still thinking reps and dems are different things
The final solution to the voting problem has pretty much been solved by now: create two subdivisions of a socio-political monopoly with few differences and no real accountability, but, and this is important, a strong divide in optics. Do that, and the people's natural affinity to fight for the tribe, to "do what's right," is perfectly harnessed.
Let's face it, whether you're someone with the views you claim to have or not, you are functionally a caveman with loyalty to the group. Those on your side, who dress the right way and say the right things, who think good thoughts and have that goodness about them, are your fellow tribesmen, forever at war with those bad guys the next cave over.
You know the ones. Bad taste, no creativity. They're both active threats and silly clowns at the same time. And there's something off about their faces. At the end of the day, eugenics is just the term we use to describe enemy tribes thinking the same way we do. We call it empathy. Rationality. Science. We're just better men, I guess.
The human conscious mind in matters of perceived survival, such as the survival of a tribe, mostly exists to rationalize animal instincts after the fact. Those "people" who we all know should be put in camps for their horrible, evil opinions for the sake of saving morality and empathy? They think the same way as you, because their minds are just as wired towards the survival of their tribe as you are.
The democratic system was built by people who believed that humans had something apart from the phenomenal world: a "soul". Bernays and Freud found out how to circumvent that soul, and since then we have grown very good at subverting it. Every meme, every photo, every speech, every building, every influencer. The world you live in is made to grab you by the lizard brain and make you like it, or even fight for it. Of course our voting system works the same way.
Thank you for your service.
